About Me
About Brittney Peiffer, LCMHCA
Counseling for young adults and adults online across North Carolina Areas.
Hi, I'm Brittney Peiffer. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with adults who have ongoing challenges with depression and anxiety. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed and start supporting you to change your life around.

My Journey To Becoming An Associate Counselor
I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.
I have coped with anxiety and depression in my own life. I have learned the skills, which helps in empowering others to use them as well.
My life experiences are what lead me to become the associate counselor I am today.
Helping People Is A Gift To Others, But Also Myself
Being a counselor is an honor. I love helping people improve and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives. The most rewarding thing about being a counselor is seeing my clients use the skills I teach.
I am committed to supporting you to change your life around.

I Have A Genuine Interest In Others And Bring Non-judgmental Acceptance To Sessions
I have a natural ability to:
Understand people's experiences
Help people identify what they are feeling
Reflect people's thoughts back to them
Uncover what's under the surface
People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can sit with people at their worst and hear them when they are in that space.
Our Sessions Are Focused On You
Sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to figure things out about yourself and feel what you need to feel.
It's important to me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and stay open to any feedback and questions you may have. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to Counseling. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

As A Counselor Associate, I Embrace The Following Philosophies:
I believe that you deserve to feel better
I believe that you are worthy of love and care
I believe that emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated
I believe that therapy works when both of us are committed to your healing
My Professional Background
I have graduated with two Masters of Arts degrees in Psychology and Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. I have also worked for a group intensive treatment program helping clients with severe and persistent mental health concerns. I conduct therapy in a warm, safe setting that allows you to feel at ease.
I use Dialectical- behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and eye movement desensitization (EMDR). I have completed an intensive training for DBT. I am currently completing a two weekend intensive certified training in EMDR.
I have been helping my community since 2018. I hold two types of licenses currently: LCMHC in North Carolina and LMHC in New York. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding this.
